Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT
In Christianity there is no graduation. There are no steps to climb in Christianity. You need the grace of God every day until the day you die. In Christianity the people who are strong are not the ones that do less sinning, the strong in Christianity are the people who depend more on God’s grace than their strength. In Christianity God doesn’t ask for your strength, the only thing He requires from us is for us to believe (faith) in His strength for us. Paradoxically, there is graduation in Christianity, only in this sense; The more aware you realise how weak, filthy and miserable you are, and believe that God is always loving, forgiving, gracious and strong towards you unconditionally, because of Jesus Christ. The person with that understanding is a graduate against someone who thinks that he is obedient for God. A person who thinks that he needs less of Jesus simply because he has been a Christian for some time in more distant from God than a prostitute or a murderer who acknowledges their need for God’s mercy.
The theology of grace is so foolish and offensive to the self-righteous. It is so counter-intuitive, it is radical, one day when the scales shall fall off, you will understand these things.
